Motel Monday: Bel Aire Inn, Truth or Consequences NM
About 2 years ago our family went to New Mexico, I was searching for thrifty alternatives when I came across the Bel Aire Motel in Truth or Consequences NM.
It was truly a gem. for a mere $50 a night for a family there were lovely rooms with mid-century furnishings, upgraded bedding, wonderful soaps and shampoos. The whole experience made me think about all the little motels like this I’ve seen around and what a lovely lifestyle for a retired couple or someone disenchanted with their lifestyle to own and run a small establishment. Especially to run it this well!!
But how would people find these wonderful little gems? And so Mid-century style Motels was born.
I’m still in search of more motels like this one, and would love your suggestions! However, this particular motel is quite the find and I recommend if you’re in the area to check it out. Nothing flashy, but an awesome Googie sign and a love of the period enough to do a wonderful job of restoration.
