Portland Mid-Century Modern – Lively Residence by Jessica Helgerson
Today we showcase another great design from Jessica Helgerson Interior Design. This time, a formerly split-level ranch received a complete makeover from the designers. Using a palette of white and green, the designers created a bright atmosphere throughout the house. During the renovation, walls were removed and rooms were relocated: “The main floor’s cramped, enclosed living areas were replaced with a bright, airy great room and an open kitchen, while the master bath was relocated to the back of the house, where it now opens to a lovely garden.” Using reupholstered and refinished vintage finds, the designers created a comfortable mood in all the rooms. Antiques and beautiful decorative elements – like the pair of Portuguese eel traps hanging over the fireplace mantel or the Chinese garden stools – offer the house a lovely mixture of styles. Branches kept in glass containers liven up the place and add to the charming atmosphere. This is definitely one of the liveliest houses, don’t you think?
