Combining old and new is not only a job for interior designers, it has become an inspiration to furniture designers, too. This beautiful cabinet created by MaaK design studio was named DUO: a perfect title for such a versatile piece of furniture combining two worlds of inspiration into one. A modern approach to the lessons learned in the past, the DUO cabinet is made from an old cabinet integrated into a contemporary piece. Both sides of the furniture have storage spaces: the modern part has a drop-down door while the old part has two classic drawers. MaaK knows what the furniture market lacks: “Within today’s busy society, the human needs memories, affection and rustic accents from the past. “MaaK” transforms inherited furniture into a modern design without losing its value and fits in the modern interiors of today.”
