Colorful Urban Eco Structure from Michael Johansson

Swedish artist Michael Johansson created an unusual urban sculpture which is exhibited at the Umedalan Skulptur 2010 event. The giant project includes life-sized objects such as a truck, a trailer, a Volvo, shipping containers and even trash cans stuck together in order to create a 3D wall. The structure is called “Self Contained” and is said to be a statement regarding the industrialization of Sweden.  The mixture of colors and textures create an interesting visual effect. Still, we think the idea of putting together such large items is a little shocking- not necessarily in a negative way. As high as a three-level building, we imagine this is quite an odd and fascinating thing to observe up-close. We are really interested in your opinions on this project.- via Inhabitat
