“Playing with Tradition” : Original Carpet Designs From Richard Hutten
This interesting line of carpets was created by href="http://www.richardhutten.com/">Richard Hutten and exhibited by href="http://www.i-and-i.it/">I+I in Rotterdam, earlier this year. It features rugs with traditional patterns which at a certain point become stretched into regular lines. Here is how the artist came up with the idea for the carpets in the first place: “For the carpet I did research in the various patterns available. Than I came up with the idea to stretch the carpet a certain point. I found out it’s very important where to start the stretching. On the traditional side I kept the fringes, on the contemporary side I made a clear cut.” We think these designs are quite interesting and we are looking forward to your impressions as well. Do you like these stretched carpets better than the original ones?- via href="http://www.dezeen.com/2010/02/16/playing-with-tradition-by-richard-hutten/">Dezeen
